Since its incorporation in 1997 Mariner Systems (UK) Ltd hascontinued to be a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of marinetype approved computer systems to the commercial maritime market. Originallydeveloped within Hewlett-Packard in the mid 1980's, the Mariner system conceptwas transferred to Mariner Systems (UK) Ltd in order to further develop thebusiness. A subsequent and continual programme of new product introductions hasresulted in an extensive product range which to this day still incorporatesHewlett-Packard technology.
A Mariner system is a type approvedcombination of computer hardware and the Mariner Kit which is designed tosupport navigation, loading, control and general purpose applications on-boardvessels. All Mariner systems are designed to operate in semi-controlledenvironments, e.g. bridge, operation / control room etc.
The project involved the complete strip out of existing, ACsystem, suspended ceiling, wet rooms, flooring and full strip back to corewalls. Our newly proposed design scheme includes: New ceilings, newmanager/director offices, new boardroom, new tea points & breakout area,new server room, new shower room, new welcoming area, mixture of solid/glasspartitioning with manifestation detailing and new office furniture. The M&Eworks include: new AC throughout, new LED feature lighting, new powerdistribution, new floor boxes, AV connections, new data cabling upgrading toCAT6.
Following on from the initial brief advised by MarinerSystems (UK) Ltd we acknowledged that although their building in Wokingham isan existing mixed use facility, we were strongly advised to approach this witha view that it was a complete empty blank canvass. The reason for this was dueto it requiring a complete re-design, major refurbishment/revamp, planned outfor long term future proof and environmental efficiencies.
