Recently, the Oaktree team completed an office relocation and bespoke fit out for Perforce, an international software provider. Seeking to move from their HQ in Wokingham to new offices at the Capitol Building in Bracknell, they selected Oaktree Interiors based on our previous work, as well as our superior canvassing; we were able to demonstrate how we could make their new design work for them, rather than their office simply being a place for them to 'do work in'.
So, without further ado, here's how we did it!
Perforce's office relocation to Bracknell
Presented pre-COVID (with the job completed after the lockdown), the project brief was to provide open workspace for up to 70 staff and a range of private offices for senior staff. Other facilities that the company wanted to provide included a wellness room, a contemporary break area and a dedicated meeting room. With an open 'feel' in mind, Perforce wanted to take full advantage of the natural light that comes in from the floor-to-ceiling glazed wing on the second floor, and thus wanted to distribute this as far as possible around the office.
We provided full-height glass partitions to create the private offices and alternated the bespoke manifestation on the dividing walls of the offices into a denser pattern. This not only provided screening between them but with a less dense pattern to the front elevations,it maintained the 'open door feel' and accessibility to senior staff. All doors feature a full-height solid colour-matched RAL finish, as well as contrasted glass partitions that are elegantly brushed with stainless steel ironmongery.
To soften the reverberation and help prevent sound bleed, we fitted acoustic ceilings and wall baffles to all private offices and meeting rooms. Similarly, we placed a void barrier above the partitions in the ceiling void to reduce noise between different areas.
A simple, yet impactful greeting area was formed – the prominent feature being a replica of the iconic K6 red telephone box. In addition to this, we provided an ultra-modern curved meeting pod that was designed to fit in with the company's logo design; creating the bespoke feel as soon as a visitor steps through the door.
