How we’re creating additional space as part of PayByPhone’s new office

The team here at Oaktree Interiors are delighted to announce that we have been appointed to carry out a THIRD office design and build project for PayByPhone, creating additional space for their workplace in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Back in 2017, we carried out the initial design and build of their new offices, following the acquisition of the business by Volkswagen Financial Services. Due to the company's resulting expansion, we recently completed a further project to fit out a loft space within the same building; providing them with a new boardroom, meeting space and additional informal meeting and hot desking facilities. This latest project will see us create additional open plan offices and meeting rooms in the adjoining building.

Who are PayByPhone?

PayByPhone are a world-leading parking payment provider and developers of mobile parking payment solutions. Based in Hertfordshire, their acquirement by Volkswagen Financial Services Group has allowed them to further expand their global reach. Their parking solutions are now used across the globe, including the payment management of 40,000 parking spaces in London alone. In fact,numerous local councils across the UK use PayByPhone to manage all of their parking payment needs.

With a growing list of clients, the need for more staff and better-defined office facilities have grown, also; hence the need to provide a comfortable working facility that can help their employees to continue to offer a high level of productivity.

How we're creating the additional office space

Situated close to the A1(M) in a converted period building in the Old Town area of Hatfield, the office is just a short walk to the town's train station; providing great access for commuters to/from Central London.

Due to the age and period design of the building (which is part of the Hatfield House estate), the layout has had to be very carefully thought out by our office design team in order to accommodate the requirements of our client. Within the loft space we have created a 'look and feel' that is reminiscent of a 'New York landscape'; providing a dedicated, themed meeting space away from the main office areas.

The new office area will befitted out within the adjoining building, creating a new large open plan office, additional meeting room, extra WC facilities and a tea point. Using some of the latest designs ideas and materials, our team are creating a modern office that keeps the look and feel of the current space, whilst providing a stunning contrast to the traditional features of the building.

Within the new office and loft space we have provided the following:

New solid and glazed partitions.
LED lighting, data and electrical installations.
Air conditioning.
New carpet and vinyl flooring.
Dry-lining to perimeter walls.
Decorations.
New office furniture, including sit-stand workstations

The works are due to start imminently, and our office design team are looking forward to bestowing more of their creativity in such a historic building.
